‘Any “bad” incident in life can either be overcome or can get stuck in our bodies and/or our psyches. According to Dr. Gabor Maté, an incident becomes traumatic when the person who went through it does not have any support or does not have the right support to facilitate healing and let it go. It consequently forms an emotional “cyst” in our psyches, which needs to be protected, overridden or suppressed. No matter how we react to it, it can continue to have an impact on our health and our sense of freedom, controlling our daily lives, without us being aware of the process.’ — Adela
Traumatic Incident Reduction (TIR) is a client-centred approach to guiding clients in addressing and releasing unwanted emotional or behavioural after-effects of traumatic incidents – grief and loss (loved ones, financial status, etc.), accidents, injuries, domestic and other forms of violence, and any painful life experience. TIR rapidly reduces post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
